Tyson Fury has refused to accept his loss in his rematch against unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and claimed the judges gave him a “Christmas present”.
All three judges scored the bout 116-112 in favor of Usyk, giving the Ukrainian a second straight win over Fury.
Fury and his promoter Frank Warren were adamant that the Briton had done enough to win the competition, which was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
“The judges gave him a Christmas present,” Fury said.
“I feel like I won both fights. I know I should have knocked him out but this is boxing and this is what happens. There is no doubt in my mind that I won this fight.
“sincere [Warren] “I’ve been pushed three or four rounds, and a lot of people have pushed me at least two rounds.”
Fury (36 years old) did not answer any questions in the ring after the match, and chose to go backstage, where he eventually spoke to the media.
“I won’t cry over spilled milk, it’s over now.” Fury added.
“I’ve been boxing all my life but I’ll always feel like a little bit of effort I put in, not a little, a lot.”
Queensberry’s Warren made his frustration with the result clear in the ring and continued to defend Fury’s win afterwards.
“I’m amazed at how they did it [judges] “He recorded it,” Warren said.
“His shots were great, his footwork was great, he wasn’t slow. He was very elusive.”
Usyk’s victory extends his unblemished record to 23 victories and solidifies his claim as one of the greatest players of this generation.
“Uncle Frank, I think he’s blind,” Usyk said.
“If Tyson says it’s a Christmas present, well, thank God, not Tyson. Thanks to my team.”
